September 28 – Simpson Bay, St Maarten – This year’s Pink Sunset Sail is fast approaching, taking place on Saturday October 1st at 5pm. This 90 minutes coastal sail is a fundraising event to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. Aqua Mania Adventures cooperates with the Positive and Elektralyets Foundation to support them in their cause to inform the local community about this disease that affects so many of us. Tickets are for sale at $40pp which includes a unique pink t-shirt, a pink mimosa, open bar and snacks.
Aqua Mania Adventures’ urges everyone that is interested in the event to make their bookings now as tickets are selling quickly. The Pink Sunset Sail is one of the events that are part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and creates an informal setting to make the topic easier to discuss. Funds are raised through ticket sales and a Pink Raffle aboard the boats. Those who buy raffle tickets get the chance to win some fabulous prizes donated by local companies.
‘The countdown for the Pink Sunset Sail has really started and we receive many bookings every day. Last year we noticed that people weren’t aware they needed reservations ahead of time and we had to disappoint quite a few people as we were completely sold out. Therefore we are motivating people to make their bookings in advance so they don’t miss out on this fun and meaningful event. Tickets can be bought at our stores at the Simpson Bay Resort and Divi Little Bay Resort, or directly on our website at www.stmaarten-activities.com’ says Michele Korteweg, organizer of the Pink Sunset Sail.
Last year Aqua Mania Adventures raised over $2500 for the Positive and Elektralyets Foundations which went towards awareness programs and free screenings and breast exams. With a 90 minute beautiful sunset sail and the chance to win fabulous prizes, the Pink Sunset Sail is guaranteed to be a successful fundraising event of the Breast Cancer Awareness month on the 1st of October. Aqua Mania Staff will show their support with “Fridays in Pink” for the whole month of October, hoping that many other companies will follow suit.
