The 12th Annual Crystal Pineapple Awards Fundraising Gala, organized by the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association, officially opens its nomination period on Tuesday September 24th, 2019 and closes on October 14th, 2019. The Award Ceremony is scheduled to be held on Saturday November 23rd, 2019.
The Crystal Pineapple Awards Fundraising Gala is the event on the island recognizing Hospitality & Trade personnel, organizations and associations, for their contribution towards the economy. The SHTA will be pulling out all the stops to highlight those persons within the island’s industries who deserve to be honored. SHTA is elated to take up this 15 year tradition after a pause due to the wake of the 2017 hurricane season.
Each year employers and the general public are requested to nominate persons in various categories. The categories are evaluated and adjusted each edition by the SHTA Crystal Pineapple Award committee.
This year, the hospitality categories will be:
- Employee of the Year
- Accommodation Manager of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Restaurant of the Year.
This year’s Trade categories consist of
- Employee of the Year
- Business Manager of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Entrepreneur of the Year
We also add 3 more categories and those are:
- Environmental Award
- Community Service Award
- Media Personality of the Year
In addition, Non-Voting awards will be provided for people and organizations excelling in contributing to Sint Maarten society and economy.
Employers and the public are asked to nominate in full force. “There are so many great persons within our Hospitality & Trade industries. These persons should be recognized and highlighted. It’s about appreciating people and hopefully inspiring others to their best no matter the position. We all play our part in maintaining our Tourism industry” said SHTA and the Crystal Pineapple Awards Organizing committee.
In the previous years, the Annual Crystal Pineapple Awards Gala has been the largest in-house event of the island. The 2016 voting campaigns led to 59.000 unique votes in the various categories, surpassing the national elections well over three times.
As per the large platform of the Crystal Pineapple Awards, SHTA underlines the marketing and human resource value of putting colleagues forward as a candidate. Nominating as reserving a company table can be done free of charge at office@shta.com .
The nomination period closes on the 14th of October. The voting period commences shortly after. SHTA recommends to send in your nominations as soon as possible as to not be taken aback by the closing date.
