SIMPSON BAY–European Bartender School (EBS) is set to add St. Maarten to its list of exciting educational destination programme locations and to kick off its four-week courses in late November.

The course is paired with accommodation, but also can be taken separately and is open to St. Maarten residents, who are “more than welcome,” EBS-Amsterdam Managing Director Dillan van Heusden told The Daily Herald. “We would love them to participate in our course.”

To this end, besides providing a fun educational experience to visitors, Van Heusden said he hoped the school also could contribute to bringing “bartending in St. Maarten to the next level.”

He added that a cocktail catering company established in the Netherlands and Belgium is also in the planning for St. Maarten. It will offer workshops and host events with a mobile cocktail bar.

Van Heusden, who has lived in St. Maarten, runs EBS-Amsterdam with his partner Mads Voorhoeve.

He explained that stakeholders had gotten together a few months ago to discuss further development for the EBS educational programme during a yearly convention in Barcelona between the EBS board and representatives of all international locations…..
