Susan Alzner, of Social Innovation Agency Shift 7 is making her comeback to the St. Maarten Innovations, Initiatives and Industries Link-Up Event (SMILE) with a keynote on “Outstanding in the Field of Infinite Possibilities”. This was announced today by organizers the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA), 360* of Innovation and Antonio Media.

Susan Alzner’s talk will be a “call to action for those who believe in the limitless potential of collaboration and sustainability”. While leading the United Nations Non-Governmental Liaison Service (UN-NGLS) from 2014 to 2018, Alzner co-created the UN Solutions Summit and led global public participation in UN General Assembly high-level events, including the SDG negotiations and Summit, the UN Summit for Refugees and Migrants, and dialogues with the candidates for UN Secretary-General. Susan is a Yale University graduate and was a keynote on SMILE’s 2019 edition as well.

SMILE 2023 will be the fourth iteration of the event centered around innovation, sustainability and networking. Taking place on October 27th and 28th, 2023, SMILE will provide a platform for companies small and large to explore innovative and sustainable solutions at the University of Saint Martin, whilst networking in the process. SMILE 2023’s main theme will be “Making Your Business Future Proof”. Speakers will be, amongst others, Tyrell Pantophlet (St. Maarten / Netherlands), James Ellsmoor of Islands Innovation (Portugal) former Chief Technology Officer of President Obama, Meghan Smith (US).
