“Members of Parliament who comprise Parliament’s Permanent Committee on Tourism, admitted on Thursday that they had little or no information on any tourism policy, the St. Maarten Tourism Authority (STA), the Tourism Statistical Information System (TSIS) and other tourism related matters.
Despite the issues being in the public domain through the media and former Ministers of Tourism, the committee whose responsibility is tourism and economic affairs, appeared bereft of information which was evident in their line of questioning to the St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA).”
