The Sint Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA) and Carib Beer have symbolically ended their 2018 Event Calendar campaign. A final calendar presentation was made to long time Sint Maarten visitor Ms. Penny Evans (80) from Annapolis, Maryland, USA to thank her for her loyal visits to her favorite destination. Neither the devastation caused by hurricane Irma nor her age limited her desire to return for a visit.
Ms. Evans celebrating her 30th consecutive year of visiting Sint Maarten, amplifies the resilience of Sint Maarten as a vibrant tourist destination – exactly the message of SHTA, Carib Beer and the many other calendar contributors wanted to showcase. The destination is slowly getting back on its feet thanks to loyal annual visitors such as Ms. Evans.
After 20 annual visits of her parents, Ms. Evans took over their habit in the end of the 1980’s with an annual stay at the Royal Pasanggrahan Hotel. Ms. Evans is enthusiastic about the SHTA / Carib calendar as a frequent visitor of country Sint Maarten, but as well as from past profession as an experienced advertiser and communications strategist for various commercial as well as political campaigns–making the symbolism of the presentation even greater.
Though by officially handing over the calendar to Ms. Evans the active campaign of sharing the calendars to individuals will come to an end, for those happy to get one of the last ones available, or organizations already wanting to remain in contact for next year’s edition, please contact office@shta.com.
