St. Maarten Hospitality and Trade Association (SHTA) President Emil Lee was quite critical of local law enforcement during his address at Thursday’s general meeting with as theme “Good Governance and Electoral Reform” (see Friday edition). Citing the lack of clarity on existing corruption-related allegations related to money laundering with the sale of government land, vote-buying, blackmail, bribery, embezzlement and violation of the accountability law, he said it’s time for the authorities to “poop or get off the pot.”
